Organisers says this year\'s Royal Geelong Show will have something for everyone, including agricultural competitions, exhibitions and displays not to mention rides, showbags and live entertainment.
Show chief executive Sharolyn Taylor said the action-packed, four-day event rivaled some of the best royal shows in the country.
\"It provides the unique experience of a royal show in a regional setting at great value for money,\" she said.
\"Families can enjoy 13 hours of entertainment for $38 - now that\'s entertainment.\"
Ms Taylor said Harry\'s farmyard was sure to be a drawcard for children this year, along with racing and driving pigs, street theatre, ferret races, sheep shearing and a \"donkey derby\".
Various displays, live music and arts and crafts would entice other members of the family, she said.
A Holden versus Ford V8 Supercar Challenge would be a new feature at this year\'s show, along with Jose Mendez and his Spanish dancing horse.
Ms Taylor said fireworks displays on Friday and Saturday nights would be the show\'s biggest yet.
The show runs from Thursday to Sunday. Family passes for two adults and up to three children cost $38, adult passes are $16, tickets for concession-card holders cost $14 and children aged five to 15 enter for free.
